Born on the coastal islands of Georgia and raised in the marshes and swamps of the south, Laura has always maintained a deep connection to the ocean. Her earliest memories are paddling canoes through the Okefenokee Swamp with her mother and two older sisters. Laura graduated from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine with a degree in Human Ecology and focused her degree in Environmental law and Environmental Education. She worked as a guide for her college’s Outdoor program. She shares her passion for the environment and outdoors with others in hopes of inspiring a greater respect for and connection to the natural world.
When not paddling you can find Laura biking, hiking, and hunting down swimming holes…or her next cup of coffee.
