Born near the ocean cliffs of northern California, Zoey was raised just as much by redwoods and harbour seals as she was by her parents. She is currently going into her 4th year at Quest University, focusing her studies on environmental science, science communication, outdoor education and place based learning. When she’s not studying or on the water, you can find her trail running, jumping in any and every body of water, drinking tea with a book in hand, drawing, and walking slowly through the forest paying attention to all the living beings that inhabit those places.
Her curiosity for the outdoors took off in her junior year of highschool in an outdoor education program called ‘team’. Switching science for wilderness medicine and indoor classroom time for multiday backpacking trips with the curriculum based on the landscapes she was immersed in. This program sparked her passion for outdoor education and place pleased learning. Zoey loves being in the natural world with others. She believes there is no better way to remind people the importance of staying curious and aware in today’s rapidly changing world.
